What is Delta 8 (Really)

Explaining Delta 8

If cannabis was liquor, Delta 8 would be wine.

There are usually 2 types of people, one who wants to know the actual makeup of Delta 8, and the other just wants to know how does it compare to marijuana they see people consume.

To explain what delta 8 is, it’s easier to reference what delta 9 is. Delta 9 is essentially marijuana. When people smoke marijuana (cannabis, weed, Mary Jane etc), they are feeling the effects of mainly delta 9 THC. Just like H20 is considered water, marijuana is considered to be Delta 9. Of course like with water there are traces of other minerals or cannabinoids in this case, but for simplicity, marijuana = D9

As each name suggests Delta 8 and Delta 9 are very similar if you happen to be a chemistry teacher. (Boring alert). The only difference between Delta 8 & Delta 9 is that Delta 8 has an eighth carbon atom with a double bond while Delta 9 has a ninth carbon atom with a double bond.

Does this matter for regular people without Nobel prizes in science?

Well yes a lot actually. Water is H2O, we all know this but for example Hydrogen Peroxide is H2O2, yes the smelly stuff you pour over wounds that bubbles up and disinfects. They both look pretty similar but I promise you you don’t want to go drinking peroxide, you’re going to have a bad time. Both Delta 8 and Delta 9 help the body but in completely different ways. Delta 9 once inside the body bonds with CB-1 receptors that create strong psychoactive effects like being more talkative, laughing uncontrollably, or having a sort of mental rush. Delta 8 has almost no psychoactive effects.

This leaves only the other benefits of the cannabis plant at play namely pain relief, anxiety reduction, and blissful interaction with mood. The word ‘Delta’ can be intimidating just like the word Hydrogen because it’s like.. hold on what’s gong here why are we using these science-esque words, but this is just like the ingredient list that you see on all your foods you buy (hopefully!); The most precise explanation of what it is.

Why People Prefer Delta 8

Without the strong psychoactive effects, Delta 8 allows you to remain far more functional. Users report being more able to focus, remain alert, and be able to socialize comfortably with no dip in coherence.

This is optimal for people at work, in social settings, and those with children. Our Delta 8 gives users a sense of relaxation without slowing down their ability to multitask. A burst of creativity without the usual session of overthinking that follows.

While some heavy marijuana plant users determine the quality of high by how incoherent it makes them, others prefer a functioning experience where they receive the benefits, but are fully present in the moment and can easily respond to any opportunity placed in front of them, whether professional or personal. This is where our Delta 8 and Delta 8 blends shine.
